A freshman majoring in pre-med and business at Loyola University Chicago, Raihan Sayeed has involved himself in the medical community for many years. Since 2006, he has spent more than 640 hours volunteering for a variety of medical facilities and professionals. Starting in 2008, Mr. Sayeed accepted employment at St. James Hospital and Health Centers, where he operated the front desk, helped patients, and assisted doctors and other hospital personnel. Still working at the facility, located in the south suburbs of Chicago, Mr. Sayeed gained accolades for his dedicated service and professionalism. Also that year, he joined the Al-Kareem Welfare Society, a group contributing medicine and health care to inhabitants of rural India. In recognition of Raihan Sayeed’s achievements, the group awarded him an exemplary community service testimonial. Further involving himself in the medical field, Mr. Sayeed shadowed physicians in late 2010 and early 2011. From 2008 until 2009, Mr. Sayeed provided his talents as a data entry technician to Vital Home and Health Care, Inc., a healthcare provider.

While completing his first year in college, Raihan Sayeed continues to learn about the newest developments in the industry. In October 2010, Raihan Sayeed went to a Health Systems Management Presentation at Rush University Medical Center and an Illinois Medical School Admissions Seminar at Illinois State University.

Aside from medicine, Raihan Sayeed engages in many other activities during his school career. He joined the Future Business Leaders of America while at Lincoln-Way East High School, coordinating trips and acting as Secretary, Treasurer, and Vice President. For the school, Mr. Sayeed also served as a Student Ambassador, helping transfer students acclimate to their new surroundings. Furthermore, Raihan Sayeed’s work as a member of the local Key Club allowed him to combine the school and the community to sponsor events, athletics, and social gatherings.
